Associate Director of Operations

Picture
Brianna Cardenas is currently an assistant professor of health at the University of La Verne.  Brianna is a physician assistant and athletic trainer, currently specializing in pain management. Brianna believes in responsible, integrative, and compassionate care for my patients and am an advocate for those with chronic illnesses. Brianna has worked with modalities ranging from therapeutic stretching to intrathecal drug delivery devices. Brianna emphasizes nutrition, exercise, and complementary & alternative therapies for long-term success with managing chronic pain.

Having a chronic illness (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome resulting in spontaneous spinal CSF leaks) with associated chronic pain gives Brianna a unique perspective and approach to patient care. Brianna believes that each patient deserves respect, empathy, and understanding when seeking care for a chronic pain condition (or any medical condition). Brianna's background in sports medicine allows her to develop a collaborative and encouraging atmosphere for patients to achieve their individual treatment goals.

Brianna enjoys mentoring students and connecting with other professionals across a broad spectrum of professions. Brianna has a special interest in the future of health care, and how health IT, personalized medicine, and health care policy will change this ever-evolving field of medicine.
